Prayers for Mom

Please pray for my mom. She is on dialysis and currently has a swollen arm related to her dialysis access. She was also recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and the doctors have told us that it is not curable and that her time may be limited. She has chosen to have treatments to prolong her life. I am praying for healing, comfort, strength, and for God to guide her doctors and treatment decisions.

I am her only child, and I have been feeling overwhelmed and terrified about the future. I am asking for prayers for strength and peace for me as well. I also pray that God brings a kind, loving, emotionally supportive man into my life soon, because I am scared of facing life completely alone once my mom is gone.

Thank you so much to anyone willing to pray for us.

Mom diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer

My mom (69 years ) was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer this week. She has a large tumor that spread to her uterus, cervix, 2 tumors on her liver and 2 in her lungs. The doctor said there is no cure and she only has months to live.

He didn't provide any treatment options at first, but then he said she could do a colonoscopy to see the source of the cancer, but that it wouldn't really benefit her since there is no hope of her getting better. She has elected to have the colonoscopy done and undergo treatment for the cancer to try to prolong her life. To make matters worse, she is on dialysis so not all types of chemo can be given to her.

She took the news well, she said she doesn't feel sad about it. She feels at peace. She still has appetite, but she is very tired and sleeps a lot now. She has also been rapidly losing weight.

I am devastated by the news. My mom and I are very close, she is the only family that I have. When she is gone I will be alone. I don't have people that I can really connect to for emotional support. Any words of comfort would be appreciated.

Mom diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer

I am the caregiver of my mom. My mom (69 years) was diagnosed today with stage 4 rectal cancer that has spread to her liver and lungs. The oncologist said there is no cure and she only has months to live.

The doctor didn't recommend any treatment options at first but he then said she could have a colonoscopy to see the source of the cancer. She is also on dialysis so he is unsure if the chemotherapy they will give her will help since certain types of chemotherapy is hard on the kidneys. He basically said that any treatment provided will just be to prolong her life.

If you could provide any advice, that would be greatly appreciated.
