Rail help for upcoming trip
As I see posted often, American here and first time in the UK (or Europe for that matter) and new to trains. We are coming to London first for a few days and then traveling to York for a wedding. Afterwards heading to Edinburgh for five days and back to London to fly home out of Heathrow. We will be staying the final night near the airport at Heathrow. It seems Kings Crossing is where I need to get via the Tube on the train trip to York (staying in Westminster area)
So it goes: Kings Crossing > York on June 24th. York > Edinburgh June 27th. Edinburgh > London July 2nd (staying near Heathrow).
While price is important, easy and convenience matter as well. Route with a view would be a plus on the trip from York to Edinburgh and perhaps back to London as it is strictly a travel day. It will be 4 adults ages (63, 62, 30, 29) all family with bags.
So I was looking at Apps, the different carriers and I am more confused than when I started. Would these be considered "splits"? Should I use different carriers?
Thank you in advance for any advice!
