cycling with tailbone pain

Hi,

I (50+y) would appreciate advice regarding cycling with tailbone pain. I went from modest cycling (easy 50+ km/300m+ elevation gain in a day weekly - max was 700m) in 2024 to virtually zero in 2025 because of sudden tailbone pain during cycling. I did put on some weight and developed anterior pelvic tilt in the last two years (stress, etc). no previous trauma, went through medical checks - no medical reason for the pain. After all clear from the medical point of view, I checked out all sort of advice on this subreddit and elsewhere. I started cycling again this month - 30-50km a week, mostly flat terrain to train my sit bones to the bike seat again. I loved it, I missed cycling so much. I did switch the seat - I found one from selle italia (ST3 Superflow) which has slightly elevated sit bone support with the central hole so the tailbone doesn't get squashed all the time and it is better. also stretching exercises for the pelvic floor/piriformis. I know my riding position is not optimal, my neck starts to hurt and my hands tend to tingle after 20 km. working on improving my overall posture but that takes time and I really want keep cycling.

The tailbone pain is still present (nowhere near as bad as last year) and I am worried it will get worse over time. what else can do? maybe play a bit with saddle position? should the front of the seat be lower than the back? I have never done a professional bike fitting - seems more like something for serious cycling not for purely fun/recreational purposes, certainly not for an overweight 50+ person trying to start cycling again. a bit embarrassing I guess.
