My ‘tiel, Puppy, absolutely hates being restrained. However, he needs to be restrained two times a day for the next week to give him his antibiotic nose drops. I’m worried that doing so will damage his trust in me, and that he’ll become afraid of me.

So far, I’ve made sure to show him the box of meds every time I’m about to grab him from his cage so he knows exactly what is coming. I’m hoping this will keep him from thinking that I could grab him at any random time.

Do you guys have any strategies to make restraining cockatiels less stressful/less damaging to their trust? He’s a very sweet bird and I’d hate to ruin that, even though I know his meds need to be given.
