Primary and secondary assessments... yo, someone, PLEASE help me i have my bronze med tmr 👀👀😭
edit: bronze med TEST tmr...
Firstly, this is what I learned for primary and secondary assessments:
Primary:
- Area check
- LOC
- Mechanism injury (how did they get this)
- WARTS
Secondary:
- Vitals (Pupils, LOC, temperature of skin, color of skin, the thing where u press on a finger nail and it turns from white to red to white, breathing, pulse… etc)
- Head-to-toe check
- SAMPLE
I’m confused on the order of primary and secondary assessments. Is it like
- Primary -> treat person for what they have -> secondary
- Primary -> secondary -> treat person for what they have
I’m also confused on who to use primary and secondary assessments on, is it:
- everyone
- Conscious victims
- Victims that have specific issues
- Unconscious victims???
And lastly, how do I do this?
Do I say it out loud?
