hi there! im currently in a tig class and im running into a consistent couple of problems. its a little hard to get answers where im at so just trying to branch out with getting other opinions.

there are days where i show up and i weld great, and days where i show up and i spend 4 hours correcting mistakes that just keep showing up. today was one of those days- im suffering in undercut hell, after i fixed it i was welding too hot, after i lowered my heat just a bit i couldnt get a reliable puddle going so yaknow more undercut hell. undercut is a city and i am the mayor or some shit. (i also forgot to mention that i have a very steady foot so the fact that im struggling with what i think is temperature control is beyond me!!!!! damn pedal!!!!)

anyways, some pics attached with what *i* think went wrong but again im a very green hand with little experience and id love some extra opinions on wtf is happening so i can try to eliminate some of the time i spend just doing the same thing over and over.

TIG on mild steel, about 98amp w/ pedal, er70s6 as per usual. all welds were dunked in very grimy water so sorry for the....gunk.

pic 1 - too cold? i seriously was having trouble with puddle control despite having a very steady hand.

pic 2 - a little too hot + undercut hell strikes again!

pic 3 - undercut, not sure abt temp

pic 4 - included bc my teacher liked that one

pic 5 - hot and undercut hell

i do apologise for asking so many questions. i just dont have an eye for this yet and not being able to diagnose my welds is hella stressful. if all goes well ill be able to update tomorrow!! so please give me advice :)
