What is NECESSARY for trying Milsim?

I've played airsoft casually with friends for years, but I'd like to try a Milsim with the upcoming AMS Nothern Front 6. The problem is that I don't have much in terms of gear or budget. I've seen people talking about drop bags, radios, water packs, night vision, and more, but what would I actually need to go try it and have some fun?

Currently, I have a Crossman Pulse R76 and a mesh mask. I plan to pick up a few mid size mags for 560 total rounds, a simple chest rig, a mag pouch, a water bottle pouch, some new eyewear, bbs, and a dead rag. I'm also planning on playing as Civilian Defense Force so I can abide the uniforms without having to invest in camo.

What am I missing and will I be able to enjoy myself with this?
