I am 30+ guy planning a solo trip for 2-3 nights in the month of May. I will be traveling from Chandigarh and i am confused between Dharamshala and Rishikesh. Can I get some suggestions and advice on this, that helps me decide the destination?

Would love to get some stay suggestions and places to explore as well.

I am planning a solo travel in May, probably to Mcleodganj/Dharamkot but still exploring my options. Looking to hear from fellow solo travelers (especially 30+):

1. How do you plan your trips—fixed itinerary or flexible?
2. Preferred stays: hostel (private room?), homestay, or hotel?
3. Are hostels a good vibe for someone in their mid-30s?
4. Any stay recommendations that are social but still peaceful?
5. Any good cafe recommendations? I love to explore different cuisines.
6. Feel free to share any Mcleodganj specific experiences that might help.

Note - I am not a frequent solo traveler, but wanna plan this one just to get some fresh air and change of scenery

I just want a chill weekend getaway and keeping it as a laid back trip with 2 nights stay. I am looking for commutation options, some stay recommendations, must visit cafes and places to visit.
