So I ran my Obsidian on my MXP SBR for the first time today. I found that because the direct thread mount is normal threaded and the sig barrel is left hand threaded I couldn't get it to torque down sufficiently. Is there a solution to this or am I just better off going tri lug?
So my local VFD has asked me if I would be willing to serve in a fire police role. I am willing, but I have a few questions that they haven't been able to answer.
One, I'm already a LEO. Where we live, we have very limited coverage from a neighboring municipality. Outside those hours, it's the PSP, so I understand the need for someone to help. That's part of why they asked me, because they think all I have to take is hazmat, since I do ICS yearly through work. And they flat-out told me they don't want to give some gung-ho guy a badge, flashing it around, causing issues for the department.
I know you're not armed. Is there a statutory prohibition to this? Personally, it would be pretty dumb for me to have to drive all the way home to store a firearm before responding. I'm in a non-uniform position for work, so I can just stow their gear in the trunk.
Lastly they said said something about making me a Lt because we don't have a budget for a dedicated FP vehicle so I'd be an LT to run Red and Blues on my POV. I thought only chief's of police could run red and blue on a POV but my only experience with red and blues is trying to get our unmarked fed taskforce guys' cars equipped so im trying to figure out how legit that claim is.
