Cpap is keeping me awake all night

So yesterday I finally took the plunge and bought a cpap. The sales guy gave me a cup mask that just goes over the nose - it seemed comfortable during the two minute fitting. Well, during the night it felt like a hurricane. I couldnt open my mouth without air rushing out - but that's ok because from what I understand you shouldn't open your mouth with a nose mask. What drove me crazy was this continuous blast of air all over my nose and air blasting out around the sides if I tried to lay in any position but flat on my back. I was awake literally until 3 in the morning after which I must have blacked out.. not the best night. My question is - is this more likely the mask model or the fitting? I was making the straps as tight as I could to prevent air leaks and it still didnt help. What do you think based on your experience?

My cpap is the prisma smart lowenstein model that is supposedly intelligent.
