Crashed out at the dealership today - LONG RANT

I am probably going to be eaten alive but I need to vent.

Went in to get servicing on my 2023 Palisades. There were three recalls. My lease is up in 2 months and I’m trying to decide whether I should buy it out or get a new one. I don’t care much about bells and whistles so the only trim I am interested in is the Caligraphy. (I make this clear).

I decided to go into the showroom and speak to someone while I am waiting. I tell the sales guy I really want blue with brown interior but I haven’t seen any in the area, so I would take blue with black interior or black on black. He asked me about grey. He pointed out another car in the same grey, I tell him that it isn’t terrible but it had light color interior and I let him know I wouldn’t consider light interior. He asked me about a hybrid, I said I hate hybrids because they make that stupid noise and it literally drives me insane. I even told him that I once returned a jeep hybrid to a car rental place and settled for a much smaller car because I hated it so much.

He asks what I want to pay and put down. I say $0 down obviously and like $750max. He asked what I currently pay and I told him that was not relevant. He asked me if I would consider a hybrid. Hello? He says they don’t make that annoying sound. I reluctantly tell him I guess I would consider it for the right price (this is where I went wrong). I tell him to run numbers for the car I want for 0,3000 and 5000 down. 10K miles.
He comes back with 7500 miles 4,500/5,500/6,500 - prices range from 900 to 1,000. I start laughing and get up, thank him for his time and start to walk away. He tries to stop me and says we can work something out. I tell that he is obviously not a serious person.
At this point my car is ready so I tell him I need to go. Then I tell him to get me the money factor, residual value and capitalized cost. We never spoke about price (I know I should’ve started there), but I know the MSRP so I am convinced that they are really trying to a screw me over so I want to reperform the calculation. He gets me the numbers and says that we can over it together. I tell him I have to go and I can do it myself so I take a picture and leave.
I go to my car, settle in and then I look at the picture. It’s for a grey hybrid! I am completely flabbergasted.

As I drive home, I become enraged. So much so that I turn around, go back to the dealership, double park and go into the dealership and CRASH OUT.

I cursed him out and told him that he was an asshole. He tries to tell me that we can work something out. I said never because he obviously thinks I’m stupid. He asked me if I came all the way back just to tell him he was an asshole? Yes! Because why would you try to sell me a car that I don’t want, in a color I don’t want, for 3K more than the car I specifically told you that I DID want, for thousands more than I wanted to put down, for 250 more per month than I wanted to spend??? He said - well I asked if you would consider a hybrid… And well, I did because I figured he had a better deal for hybrids or something. Never in my wildest dreams did I consider for a second that he would try to sell me a car that is basically everything I said I didn’t want for significantly MORE money!!

Everyone is telling me that this is normal for car salesmen. WTAF???
