Cool Cabana

I see a lot of people on the beach using Cool Cabanas and we finally got one for this summer. We used it only for the second time today and the top of it flew off, the pole was still in the ground but the canopy came off.

I wasn’t there when my husband and kids set it up, they’re insisting the pole was in the ground properly and the side bags were filled to the brim.

Has anyone with a Cool Cabana ever had this happen? I really think it was user error lol.

Being in healthcare while having elderly parents 🤦‍♀️

My in laws, actually.

My father in law is older than his wife and this man has got SO MANY health problems. He’s declined a lot in the last year, has had multiple hospitalizations, and wife plus my husband’s siblings are in total denial about his health status (CHF, a-fib, repeat falls, lung disease, hypertension). She’s bringing him on vacations, they’re going out to see friends, blah blah blah—and now he’s in the hospital again.

And whose house do they start calling for advice, can you come to the hospital to be with him in the ER, can you talk to the doctors, etc? 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

They have a vacation planned again in the next few weeks out of the country because she wants to go and I’m like dammit all to fucking hell JUST STAY HOME.

I’m just venting, thank you lol.

I live in New Jersey and substitute in one district local to my house. A nurse in one of the schools asked me to cover her while she’s in the building but “working on a project.” I said fine, not a problem.

But personnel is now bugging me to not work in the school that day but cover on a field trip into NYC, which is about 40 minutes away without traffic. But I’m not comfortable with that since my husband will be away for work and I would like to be able to get to my kids if needed.

I’m new to subbing in this district and really do enjoy it, do I just tell them honestly I don't want to be that far from home? Or am I overthinking this?
