Finding a breeder in Eastern Canada.

I live in Eastern Quebec and I thought for sure there would be breeders near Montreal but TICA doesn't seem to list any in Canada and http://www.birmansusa.com/breeder.aspx (which is a US site) lists two but they're both in Ontario. I had a Birman years ago that I went down to Massahusetts in the USA to buy, but it seems like there were more breeders then. (true?) I'd rather not buy by mail because I'd like to see the cattery, meet the breeders and meet the parents of the cat I buy. Suggestions, thoughts?

Need a new cat. Birman questions....

My old moggy orange tabby passed and I'm looking for a new cat. I'm seeking a cat who's calm, friendly and affectionate, and apt to get along well with our chocolate lab who's very sweet and friendly.

Birmans are promoted as being sweet, calm, affectionate and relaxed around pets. The formal research ( _Mikkola et al. (2021), Reliability and Validity of Seven Feline Behavior and Personality Traits, Animals 11(7):1991_. _Salonen et al. (2019), Breed differences of heritable behaviour traits in cats, Scientific Reports 9:7949_ does **not**support these claims but the one Birman I've had in the past **was** calm, friendly and affectionate. What's the best way to maximize my chances of getting a cat with the personality I'm looking for?
