I’ve been reading a spiritual book called The Laws of the Spirit World, about the afterlife and karma, and I’m honestly feeling more confused than enlightened. I wanted to share my thoughts and see how others view this.
The book talks about multiple realms after death and says the ultimate goal is to reach the highest realm, basically God’s paradise. I don’t have an issue with karma or even the idea that we choose our lives, parents, and experiences to work through it. I’m okay with being born multiple times until I finish my karma.
But here’s where I’m stuck. Once all that is done, why is the final step to go to some ultimate realm (realm 7) and exist there forever as a spirit? I’m not okay with that. If I’ve gone through everything, learned, and repented, why is there no option to just stop existing? Why is eternal existence the only outcome?
Another thing that confuses me is how this system applies to animals and insects. They don’t have the same level of awareness or choice as humans, so applying karma to them feels unclear and kind of inconsistent.
Some parts I do agree with, like intentions mattering more than rituals, and that you don’t need to blindly worship God. I also feel like being a good person should come from within, not from fear of punishment or reward.
Overall, I’m not against spirituality or God, but I don’t resonate with the idea of a fixed final destination where everyone has to end up.
Does anyone else feel this way about these kinds of spiritual frameworks?
