About two years back I was getting burned out from all the stress at work and family stuff so I picked up this ukulele randomly thinking it might help. Tried for maybe a week then just left it sitting there collecting dust

Last year I finally went through my place and got rid of tons of unnecessary things. Almost donated the ukulele too but something made me keep it. Maybe because I realized I was tired of hobbies that just create more clutter around the apartment

Been using VR lately to wind down after long days and it got me thinking about other ways to relax that dont involve screens or buying more stuff. So I actually started practicing the ukulele again few weeks ago

My coworker who plays guitar showed me some basic chords during lunch break and now I can play simple version of wonderwall which sounds terrible but feels amazing. He says these same chords work for tons of other songs so theres plenty to learn

The whole thing has been surprisingly calming especially after dealing with family drama. Something about just sitting there focusing in the music makes everything else fade away

Really glad I didnt get rid of it. Sometimes keeping less stuff means you actually use what you have
