Help me plz

My boyfriend and I sold our wristbands saturday night to a couple. we are getting old and honestly were just exhausted lol.
my wristband slipped off but my bf had to cut his, but when we went to meet the couple we were selling to, we brought clear duct tape to fix it up.
they paid us, we gave them the wristbands, and went on with our life. about 10 min later the bf calls saying that security took his wristband because it was tampered with. “the light went green but they still took it” was his wording.
he asked if i could go to wristband help and get him a new one and i said sure. i went, but they were closed for the night. i told him i would go back in the morning and we could meet up outside of the festival and i would help him get a new wristband. they said cool, we will be there around 12 tomorrow.
the next morning, we went to wristband help on the campsite grounds but they were still closed. we still hadn’t heard from the couple and they live in LA so we figured it would be a couple of hours and we would try getting another wristband at will call outside of the festival.
we packed up and headed over to will call which was 0 help. they basically refused to do anything which was really really annoying. at this point it was almost 12pm and they had just woken up. They said they wouldn’t be in indio until 4. At this point, I decided I wanted to start the trek home and just call it.
Overall, we gave them 2 working wristbands + went above and beyond to try to help them… they’ve been texting me consistently for the last month threatening to take legal action and asking for their money back.
Do they have any jurisdiction here?
