I just wonder why there is no direct accommodation platform available at all. I know Roomkey had tried in the past, which was created by Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, InterContinental (IHG), Wyndham, and Choice Hotels but failed as they forgot all the independent hotels, and did not spend any marketing $ against OTA and closed in 2020. I understand OTA have a lot of pulling power, but so do have consumers I guess. I am sure Hotels, would prefer direct bookings at time.
Any thoughts on that? Would there be
enough appetite for consumers to use a direct booking platform, which would
bring so many more benefits I guess. Any thoughts?
