Testing center or remote?
I’m registered for the upcoming June exam, and this will be my first time officially taking the LSAT. I recognize this is my last chance to take the test in the online format before all testing moves to in-person starting August.
I am nervous about all the posts I’ve been seeing about proctor and remote testing issues, like the proctors randomly unmuting, freezing your test and LSAC score holds because of “suspicious behavior,” etc. I really want to make sure I have my score ASAP so I can decide whether I need to take August.
I like the idea of being able to take the test in a familiar environment, since I always study at my desk at home, but I’m not sure if it’s worth all the potential trouble.
My partner works from home and is in sales, so he will be calling people all day. He has agreed to be as quiet as possible, and though there will be an entire floor between us, our walls and doors aren’t the best sound insulators. He has essentially agreed to lock himself down there for the day, but I feel bad considering he won’t really be able to use any other part of the house while I’m testing.
As for the testing center, I’m worried about potential distractions that I wouldn’t have at home, and the fact that I just don’t know what the environment will be like. Are we in cubicles each with our own computer? Can you see other people testing/going to the restroom?
If you were in my situation, would you take the test at a testing center or sign up for the remote administration? I live about 30-35 minutes away from the testing center if that matters.
Thanks in advance for any insight!
