Please Help. Concerning Results from Follow-Up CT

  1. In the right lung base on image # 43 series # 250 is a noncalcified soft tissue nodular density 12 x 9 mm. A 4 mm nodular density is present just inferior to this on image # 45 series # 250. According to the Fleischner Society Foundation (2017), if a pulmonary nodule is greater than 8 mm, consider CT at 3 months, PET/CT, or tissue sampling.

This is what my follow-up, 3-month CT scan said. I had a PE and lung infarct this past May. I don’t see the doctor until next week, and I’m terrified. Is this nodule potentially just the infarct healing? Could it be cancer? (That would be very fast growing).

I know this is not a place for medical advice, but any reassurance or similar experiences would really help right now. Thank you so much.

Eliquis Muscle Aches Side Effects?

I had a minor PE a few months ago. No idea where the clot came from, as ultrasound of my legs the day after the PE found nothing. Hematologist said that it likely developed directly in my lung.

Anyway… Immediately went on Eliquis. And immediately started having weird side effects. Started out with fatigue for a few weeks, which could have just been my body healing. However, I’ve also had weird muscle aches and spasms since going on the medication. I was not having these before. Weird tightness and muscle aches in my legs, random muscle twitching on different parts of my body. Hematologist assured me that this was in no way a side effect of the medication, but from what I’ve seen on here, not necessarily true. Can someone help me? Is this a real side effect, and is there anything that can be done? I feel like I’m going crazy.

AP Exam Score Cancelled for “Overwhelming Evidence of Misconduct”

Nothing was reported by the proctor during the exam. This is a student who I am like 99.9% certain would never cheat. As in, I’ve seen this student, when they didn’t know I was looking, refuse to give answers to another student who asked. I taught them for two years.

It seems like a lot more AP students are getting these emails that exam scores are being cancelled. Is there any evidence on how accurate college board is when detecting misconduct? Or how they determine evidence of misconduct? I feel devastated for this kid. Believe me, I am not one to blindly assume these kids are all angels, but this is legitimately one that I fully believe didn’t cheat.

ET is the Real Deal

We finally got our ET CB-350 yesterday, and the guy gave us a demo with our base we brought.

From our first few batches, I can definitely say this is the real deal. The texture is so, SO much better than the Whynter machine we began with at home. Our ice cream always received excellent feedback, but after making so many batches, we wondered why we couldn’t ever level-up to produce that perfect professional texture… now that is not an issue. Our jammy fruit mix-ins incorporated perfectly. We were also worried about how the machine would handle super premium ice cream, as we’re at around 18% butterfat with out clotted cream base. Zero issues. Ice cream didn’t turn to butter flakes like we feared. No ice cream stuck to the barrel.

Needless to say, super impressed. It’s so rare these days for the industry standard to be something manufactured here in the U.S…. Just kind of a cool perk to have that service so easily accessible too!

Thanks to everyone on Reddit that helped us feel confident about buying ET. Hoping the “buy once, cry once” mentality works out for us.

How Long for Lung Infarction Pain to Go Away at Night?

I had a very small clot and very small lung infarction. After starting the blood thinners, I have no back pain during the day or even at the beginning of the night as I head to sleep. However, the sharp, deep pain comes back around midnight. It’s unbearably uncomfortable and made worse by the fact that no real sleep position works. I don’t want to be taking opioid painkillers every night for weeks (it’s the only thing that works). How long did it take for your infarction pain to go away?

Help Please?Life After Small PE & Lung Infarction

I’m a healthy 35 year old male. I’m maybe 10 pounds overweight, but I exercise regularly… heavy cardio like 5-mile runs. No real risk factors other than family history of blood clots and long COVID that lasted almost an entire year.

I was diagnosed with PE: a small clot in I guess a non critical area? But enough to cause a small infarction in my lung. I was missing a lot of the common symptoms… no shortness of breath all all, just excruciating back rib pain. I assumed it was a pulled or torn muscle from lifting weights. Took me two trips to urgent care for a doctor to even consider PE.

Doctor said the infarction was small and that I likely wouldn’t have any long-term damage to my capacity. I feel like a can breathe just like normal. I feel like I could go for a run right now. Back pain has reduced significantly since I started blood thinners (I assume that means blood flow is getting to my lung?)

Does anyone have any advice or experience with a PE like this? I’m still processing wtf just happened, as I was not at all expecting this. Like can my life somehow return to normal at some point? Can the lung fully heal? Thank you. Sorry if my questions are a bit of a ramble. I’m tired and on pain meds.

Perfecting Floral Recipes

Does anyone have a “perfect” recipe for basic floral ice creams, specifically rose and lavender?

We’re having trouble with making them either too heavy or too light and prone to being icy. With the lavender, cold steeping has worked well for a subtle floral note without that soapy or perfumey taste.

We use glucose, milk powder and LBG, so it’s more about the perfect ratio of cream to milk, and whether to incorporate eggs at all. None of the recipes I’ve found online have been that amazing. Thank you!

CB-350 for High-Fat, Premium Ice Cream

After a year of planning out, recipe formation, all the licensing and certification, my wife and I are finally able to officially start our ice cream business and make sales. We pulled the trigger on the Emery Thompson CB-350… the quality, ease of use, ease of access to maintenance somehow convinced us that it’s worth paying that much money for. Our business is ultra premium British ice cream— so some very high fat batches because we used ingredients like clotted cream.

While we wait for delivery, does anyone here have experience or advice for using this machine for this style of ice cream? And how much better is this thing truly than cheaper machines and at-home machines (we’ve been using the Whynter up till now and the high fat content is a challenge in it)?
