I’m based in Hampshire and thinking about trying to do the modular route.

My first step will be to get a Class 1 early next year and go from there. I will have to massively save as I go to pay for it and probably take out a loan.

I’m wondering if anyone knows of any good places to do a PPL?

How much this’ll likely cost? I’m hoping around £75k?

What are the best ways I can save money doing this?

I applied for the BA Speedbird Academy this year and got rejected after getting to the in person assessments. I’ll try again next year but I can’t count on getting in.

Also, I’m 28 so will likely be 33ish when finishing modular training if all goes well. Is that too late?

I’ve seen elsewhere on Reddit that people have been getting offers for the Jet2 Flight Path. I’m just wondering if people generally apply for Jet2 and BA?

Appreciate it’s all so so competitive, but wondering (hoping?) some people might’ve got offers with Jet2 and will withdraw from BA SPA thus giving the rest of us a tiny tiny bit more of a chance?

Is the maths on the Eagle Test hard?
I’ve done one test on PASS and got 52% lol, not sure if I’m being stupid or it’s a matter of getting used to it

Well, I’ve done my tests. Breakdown is something like

Monitoring - maybe 6/7 mistakes

Multitasking - no mistakes

Hand eye coordination- one crash and 130 ish barriers passed

Reaction speed - one mistake

Sense of direction - one mistake

Applied numeracy - think i got 100%

Numerical reasoning - 11 answered

I’m upset that I made silly mistakes on the sense of direction & reaction speed.

How has everyone else done? Any similar results to mine?

I just feel this won’t be good enough aha, the bar must be so high.

Did anyone crash when doing their test for real?

I’ve been practicing the two PASS applied numeracy tests and I’m now getting 100% quite quickly.

I’m just wondering, anyone who has already done the tests, is there anything else that should be revised? I don’t know how accurate those PASS tests will be?

Not looking for anyone to share what’s in the tests, just some revision pointers
