My sweet boy passed at home early this morning. His health declined so quickly, it’s heartbreaking. He went in Friday for an upper respiratory infection and we were back at the vet Saturday for wobbly legs. Once we got home we rushed to the emergency vet for what they thought to be vestibular disease. 2 1/2 days of force feeding and pills and he finally gave up. We are thinking it was actually a stroke.
He’s been my world for 10 years. He’s healed my heart and soul in so many ways. He’s seen me through it all: dating, engagement, marriage, and my first child. A constant love and light of my life.
I held him the last night and told him it was ok if he was tired. That I loved him very much. I pray it was peaceful. I wish I knew sooner. He’s now buried on my stepmom’s property under a big redwood tree.
I’m forever indebted to him and hope he knows how much I loved him.
