how do i know if it would be a good idea to file bankruptcy? i’m struggling just living paycheck to paycheck

Getting sued by debt collectors for a lil over a grand..but i noticed on the document they got the e last 4 of my social wrong..on top of that the document was served to my mother at her house and not to me at my apartment..anyone call tell me what i should do next? the papers were served to my mom a week ago.
