I’m confused on why CS degree have that much difficult time getting a job compared to like an engineering degree… I get that SWE roles are very competetive rn but don’t CS degree have more varieties of jobs they can apply to: like IB, finance related, consulting, quant, cybersecurity, data analytics… ik they’re all extremely competitive and sought after roles but doesn’t CS degree deemed more capable in these types of field?

Is it possible to pursue consulting in prestigious firm like McKinsey as a u of t CS degree? What other things might I need compared to consultants applying to big 4 as a business major or Econ major?
