currently employed at a hospital and will be beginning a new grad RN residency program that I will need to sign a 12 month contract for. I decided (semi last-minute) to apply to PA school, as my nursing degree has always meant to be a launching point and a way to get tons of clinical experience very early. programs that I am looking at have start dates that fall within the 12 months (some only by a few weeks). i'm nervous about telling my employer and then being let go as my plans are not to stay. but I also want to be transparent and respectful. all thoughts/advice would be appreciated!
