First T arrived today
My first T, a Nicaraguan curly hair arrived today. It is so tiny I was afraid of using the tiny paint brush I got specifically for coaxing it into the phial I'll be keeping it in. Decided to just let it move into it's enclosure at it's own pace. It is in a phial, with a good bit of water, and that phial is in a good sized tank with a heating pad on the opposite side of the phial. My house is typically pretty cold so this is me essentially putting it in a room, in my room to keep it closer to slightly above room temp with good humidity and ventilation.
I really want to get an Arizona blonde as well, I actually think that'd be the best first T for me, but no luck online or local places. I have a lot of experience keeping other desert inverts like giant desert hairy scorpions. (For some reason my arachnophobia I'm trying to get over doesn't apply to scorps for me) If there's any other arid desert tarantula species you guys would recommend for a beginner let me know and I'll keep an eye out!
Trying to get over my arachnophobia, I have been going to a friend's house to interact with some of his tarantulas. I'm still arachnophobic but I'm remaining calm while handling and have helped him rehouse 1.
Getting my first sling raise December 19th! Nicaraguan curly hair.
