How can I make my classroom smell better?

It sure is this is the right flair, but I tried:

I work in a very old building and my classroom stinks. I have an air purifier already! I don’t want to use oils or anything else that can trigger asthma, obviously, but my room smells so gross. We’re also right next door to a boys gym bathroom so I know that’s part of it. Our whole hallway smells like butt (literally). What can I do?? Should I sprinkle a crap ton of baking soda and leave it over a weekend then vacuum up? What else can I possibly do that won’t cause allergies/asthma. It just smells so terrible 😭

Is this even possible? Alt cert and start dates

I am wondering if anyone here has started a a brand new teacher prior to being certified and within weeks of admission to an alternative certification program.

I have never taught before. No certification but have applied to one program and there’s no reason I won’t be accepted. I am in Texas and a private school wishes to hire me as a pre-k teacher. I was not thinking about teaching but through a series of events and connections, here we are and I’m actually excited about it. I really think I’d like to do this, but classes start in 16 days. I have applied to an alt cert program but I’m getting mixed answers regarding when I could physically start in the classroom. My principal and leads are ok with an admissions letter showing I’ve been admitted and am doing classes, but will the state allow me to teach without any coursework completed yet (Starting it next week) or testing done? Is this even remotely feasible or are we just wasting time? Because this is a private school vs a public district, I am not sure if that makes any difference.

I realize this is very specific so not expecting concrete answers from Reddit. I do have an appointment with my program scheduled for this week where I hope to get this clarified for certain. So has anyone accepted a teaching position and actually started before taking the TExES exams or completing training and getting your SOE? I sincerely appreciate any advice! Thank you!

Is there a market with realtors/sellers for budget staging consultations?

I hope it is ok to ask this here. I would appreciate input from realtors regarding this potential service.

I’m currently a real estate photographer, and while I absolutely love what I do, I’ve been thinking about expanding into something complementary.

Recently, my spouse and I were talking about my strengths, and they suggested home staging consultation. Not full-service staging, but more of a design-focused consultation where I walk through a home and provide practical, budget-conscious recommendations such as:

- Rearranging furniture
- Removing or replacing decor
- Suggesting paint colors
- Improving layout and flow
- Identifying simple updates that could make the home more marketable

I’d also love to provide mockups or vision boards to help homeowners visualize the potential of their space and maximize their return when selling.

The key difference is that I wouldn’t actually do the staging myself. My target market would be homeowners who don’t want to pay for full staging services—which can be expensive—but who still need guidance because they don’t know where to start.
The idea would be a 1–2 hour in-home consultation followed by customized staging recommendations for a flat fee.

I genuinely have a strong eye for design, I’m very vision-oriented, and I’m extremely budget-conscious. I’ve personally renovated and redesigned three homes on a tight budget, so I know how to create impact without overspending.

I’m curious—does a market already exist for something like this? A staging consultation service? I haven’t even Googled it yet because I’ve mostly been thinking through the logistics and business model.

White chocolate raspberry cake recipe??

My kiddo wants a white chocolate raspberry cake. Does anyone have any killer recipes? I've never made one before. Please, no box cake hacks. I prefer to bake from scratch. I can always google, but thought I'd ask here to see if anyone had a tried and true recipe that they'd be willing to share first! Any links or anything? I'm a home baker that only bakes for my family, but I like to think I'm pretty good so this isn't too far fetched at all :)

Also, I'm planning to make something similar to this cake. I'm thinking of using American Buttercream for the skirts and decor.... Do y'all agree? I usually do Swiss buttercream just because I prefer the taste but I'm afraid it won't hold up as well to Texas heat. Thoughts? Any other tips or tricks you'd care to share?? Thank you all so much! :)
