I am using a CalDigit TS5 Plus as a docking station for my personal Macbook Pro M3 max and Windows 11 HP ZBook Firefly G11 Mobile workstation.
There are different issues with both the setups.
The windows office laptop has DMA restrictions in place which does not let PCIe peripherals from connecting prior to login. So the docking station will only work after I login. What I notice is that, even after login the ethernet adapter does not start by itself and I don't see a mechanism to start it either. So essentially I cannot take advantage of the 10Gbde connection while hooked up to the office laptop! I have already updated the drivers/firmware and dont see a change.
With the Macbook, its a different story! While all the components work with it, it takes a lot of time to establish a reliable connection between the dock and the Macbook. Mackbook keeps attempting to establish the connection and the peripherals hooked to the docking station keep going through the startup sequence. I have a Insta360 Link 2 pro webcam which keeps cycling through its startup sequence during these instable cycles and its annoying.
Anyone have similar issues and found a way around it?
