Is FINRA fingerprinting becoming a big thing in Barcelona now?

Lately I’ve been seeing more people in finance and fintech roles talking about FINRA fingerprinting during onboarding. Is this tied to more US firms hiring in Barcelona, or are compliance checks just becoming stricter for international employees?
