Is testing closer to 3 hours after eating giving inaccurate results?

Hello. I sadly got diagnosed almost exactly a week ago. I got a finger stick kit and have been trying to test at one hour and two hours after eating.

I know that they say two hours is an important metric, but a few times I’ve gotten busy at work (especially after breakfast) and have been unable to test until ~3 hours out. Is that still accurate for post meal testing?

Newly diagnosed. Dr. said my levels were low enough that I could treat with lifestyle changes, but prescribed me metformin. Should I take it?

I just got diagnosed like 20 minutes ago. My A1C was 6.5 (right at the cut off) and my fasting glucose, at the time, was 103. My PCP said that because I was right at the line, I could treat with either lifestyle changes alone (increased activity and better diet) or alongside medication, and it was up to me.

I did request medication because I’ve obviously failed with lifestyle changes up to this point. and it’s being filled now. But now Im unsure. When it’s ready, should I take it? I keep reading about people’s poor experiences with it so I am nervous.

I also requested a referral for a dietitian and I’ll be hearing from them soon, so in either case that will help.

ETA: Thanks for all of you who left helpful feedback! I am considering starting it on Sunday (I have something on Saturday) and seeing how I feel. I also got a glucose monitor and have been checking throughout the day. Diet will be a work in progress but I look forward to hearing from the dietitian soon.

Is anyone familiar with Bisk and how it operates?

I am just curious. I started an application for a master’s degree at a certain university but didn’t finish. I get some reminder emails from the university, as to be expected. However, today I realized that the email of the person who was contacting me was an @bisk.com account, and that the messages were sent on behalf of the university. Upon further googling, I realized that it was a businesses that universities will contract with to handle online programs and that their services range from recruitment to course management.

It wasn’t super clear on how the university managed the program, so I’m curious - has anyone ever interacted with a program administered by Bisk? Are they very hands on or does the school take over after admissions? TIA!
