475 vs 575 pd role, worth leaving early?

Hello fellow contractors

I’m 4 weeks into a £475 outside role, 6 month contract. Nice culture, impactful scope and work is semi engaging and it seems there would be room for extension or perm later. But not set on the industry niche as a whole.

Been offered a £550 a day outside role for 3-6 months. Slightly more wide potential in this industry. But it’s more a single project deliverable, so less likelihood of extension etc. Work might be abit more repetitive but of course this is all speculation.

I’m not that concerned about the contract length as I’m hoping to go Perm after somewhere or another. But essentially is it worth burning a bridge and leaving early for the extra cash?

Also with 2 weeks notice, do they usually make you work this from experience? Or am I better off assuming not and letting them know right at the end to avoid downtime. Cheers.

Two job offers, which one to choose ?

Hi all, looking for some career advice!

I’m currently deciding between two offers in data and I’m struggling to work out which is better for long-term career growth and earning potential?

Offer 1: BI Manager at a mid-sized non tech company

-Package 10-15k more than Job 2
-3 days per week in office, 37.5hr
-Small BI team: Head of BI above me and two analysts below
-Role would involve shaping BI strategy, management experience, stakeholder engagement, and AI implementation/growth within the business

Pros:
-Better money now
-Clear management/leadership experience, a step up
-Better work-life balance with hybrid working
-Opportunity to own and shape the BI function

Cons:
-Less recognisable company name, uk only
-Less product/tech-focused
-Smaller team in smaller business, so possibly less technical mentorship
-I may want to move country in 1–2 years which won’t be possible

Offer 2: Amazon Business Intelligence Engineer,

-10-15k less then role 1, stocks in year 3/4
-5 days per week in office, 40hr
-Team is larger and more international/spread across Europe/US
-Potential exposure to AWS, Python, product analytics, experimentation, and larger-scale data

Pros:
-Huge global brand name, Strong CV value
-Potentially opens doors to FAANG/big tech/startups
-Better technical/product analytics exposure
-Better chance of moving country internally in future
-Could be very valuable for long-term earning potential

Cons:
-Lower pay in the short term
-5 days in office and longer hours
-Amazon has a reputation for high workload/pressure
-Step down & could take 2–3 years to move up a level
-Less immediate management experience, less ownership

My priorities
I’m trying to think less about the next 6 months and more about the next 5–10 years.

The BI Lead/Manager role is better financially and for lifestyle right now, and not sure when I would get to be a manager again in short term. But Amazon feels like it could be a stronger long-term, especially for global recognition and future opportunities.

Also, for anyone who has worked at Amazon or moved from BI into big tech/product analytics, how much did the brand actually help you later? Happy to grind now if it will pay off.
