Locked out of interactions when pressing in-game buttons

I am in desperate need of help. I'm playing the Docks level where you have to chase Flass. Everything is fine until you have to interact with the battering ram button. Then I get locked out of character interactions. I can still open the pause menu and the characters menu (where you can see the map, characters, and upgrades) and i can move the camera around. But my characters get stuck when pressing the button.

I've tried everything Google and reddit has to offer. Lowering the frame rate, quick pause refreshing, turning off frame generation. I can't get the button press to work.

Please help.

It's been probably a good 6-8 years or so, but here's what I remember:

- it was black and white

- each episode was a different short story

- its NOT Minerva

- its NOT Ghost Teller

the only chapter I remember is about an astronaut who discovers that earth is inside a fishbowl and he has a panic attack over it

I've been looking for it for days please please please help
