Long-term Depo shot users, did you experience withdrawals coming off of it?
I’m 21, and been on Depo for 8 years now, and it’s about 4 months post my last shot. I wanted to get off of it because I thought it might be the cause of my treatment-resistant depression.
It’s been so long I don’t have a gauge on what my natural baseline is concerning the impact of hormones/moods. I haven’t had a period since my first shot, and just in the past year or two, I’ve started to get body aches. Almost like my whole body, all my muscles feel fatigued, especially after receiving a dose.
I’ve tried to do research on Depo withdrawals, and genuinely, the limited studies on this; a medication that’s been out for decades, is truly appalling. I know a lot of people experience withdrawals but I definitely want to hear from anyone that’s been on Depo long term and has come off of it.
