FTM with 1 month old and WFH

Hello! I’ve been a lurker in this sub during my pregnancy and now it’s finally my time to post. I’m a FTM currently working my very flexible WFH admin assistant type part time job with the expectation that I return full time after Labor Day.

I guess my main question is - how the heck is everyone doing this?!? How is everyone finding the time to deliver at work, keeping up with the baby, appointments, stay on their pumping schedules, sleep, eat, meal prep, chores, and have time for selfcare things???

My wonderful husband and I are still getting in the groove of things. He works 4 days a week leaving at 5am most days and not getting home til 5pm. When his work is busy, he’ll typically work overtime since his job is the more lucrative one for our household so sometimes that puts him at 5 days a week. He also works a very dangerous job so it’s important that he gets sleep so I take the baby night shifts during the week and he covers baby duties on the weekends. We also don’t really have family that would come over during the week for childcare.

Idk if there is an actual solution for my scenario, but it just feels like the wild wild west over here M-F and maybe that’s just the season we are in now. Would be interested just to see if anyone has tips to help me get through the week without having to totally front load all my work on the weekends.
