Can 16:8 fasting improve insulin sensitivity?
I am watching some videos about intermittent fasting (seems mainly on Keto diet) and blood sugar control. Some sources claiming it can lower your fasting levels, improve metabolism and assist with fat loss especially visceral fat and improving insulin sensitivity by reducing fat in cells. Also in improving metachondrial health or renewal.
For type 2 diabetes is this a beneficial approach? I have tried it over the weekend with breakfast at 09;30 and dinner by 17:00. On Sunday I found that my morning glucose between 06:00 to 07:00 climbed or were higher than normal. Even through the day the glucose levels seem to rise and fall and most strange would even climb like it was going spike when I have not even eaten yet. For reference my glucose reaction is mostly steady and predictable post meals with no elevation before meals.
Anyone here that is doing 16:8 fasting for one or more days and how does your glucose levels look back on a normal eating day? did you find intermittent fasting helped with fasting levels and lowering average blood sugar levels
