Low Gpa

Hi everyone,

I’m from India and looking for some honest guidance regarding MBA admissions in the US.

My undergraduate GPA is around 2.3, which I know is quite low for top programs. I have close to 6 years of work experience, mainly in service management / IT service management–related roles. I’m nearing 30 years old and was recently relieved from my company, so I’m currently re-evaluating my career path and future plans.

I wanted to understand realistically:
- What kind of US MBA programs should someone with my profile target?
- Are T20/T50 schools still possible with a strong GMAT/GRE and good essays?
- How much does work experience help offset a low GPA?
- Would a specialized master’s program be a better option than an MBA?
- What should I focus on over the next 6–12 months to improve my chances?

I’d really appreciate honest advice from people who’ve seen similar profiles succeed (or fail). Thanks in advance.
