I’m looking for other opinions besides fusing my MTP. I live outside of Toronto… Willing to travel to the states. Has anyone had lapidus procedure done in Canada? I don’t think Lapiplasty is available in Canada yet ? Recommendations please !
I’m having a hard time finding info on a surgeon that uses Lapiplasty (3d) as opposed to a Lapidus bunionectomy. Any have any leads? Is this even available in Canada ?
55yo female and I’ve had enough of foot pain. I’m very active and can’t do a lot now bc of metatarsal pain.
About 10 years ago I saw an orthopaedic surgeon and he told me I shouldn’t get my bunions done -fast-forward now my metatarsals have all collapsed in my feet are always in pain.
New orthopaedic surgeon has said I should do a 1st MTP fusion as well as 2, 3, 4 DMMO to straighten my toes and fix my metatarsal arch. (So all of my toes will be broken at once)
I’m not gonna lie. ..Fusion is freaking me out! I spoke to him again today, asking if there was any other option and he said he would ONLY do a fusion on me. BTW, I also have arthritis in the joints
Can I have your good stories! How is mobility and walking afterwards? Any shoes you can’t wear? Any things you can’t do?
