Praise for the Honey Bun

The more I make and consume fine baked goods, the more I realize that the honey bun (like the one from vending machines) is the platonic ideal of pastry. Tender yeasted dough, delicious glaze, if it wasn’t in a plastic package you could probably slap some cardamom on top and sell it for 12$ at any trendy NYC coffee shop. I love honey buns.
