This season was good while it lasted

Actually no, it wasn't good at all.

We'd be first or second on the table right now if our management wasn't ass and if Mukesh was nowhere near this team. The fact we're still in "contention" right now is hilarious.

Goodbye guys! Hopefully Rahul/Stubbs/SOMEONE ELSE is captain next season and Badani is gone. See you then!

What type of gum does Ashutosh smack?

Processing img hpmbtyrgxx1h1...

I am curious what gum Ashutosh chews. He seems to really enjoy it. Maybe we can trade that gum with other teams in exchange for players.

Clarification: Hardik Pandya is NOT being traded to Delhi

Hi Fans!

Hardik Pandya is not being traded to Delhi, in spite of circulating rumors. I hope we can keep this sub full of only TRUE and VERIFIED information. Below are some clarifications:

  1. Hardik Pandya is not being traded to Delhi in place of Axar Patel

  2. MI and DC are not in discussion over a trade. Any speculation of this matter is untrue.

  3. The all cash trade deal of Nitish Rana to GT is also untrue. DC is not in discussion with GT regarding any trades.

  4. Rehan Ahmad did not leave the Delhi squad and is still part of the team.

Have a bunch of MCAT Prep Books if anyone needs some

I have like 15 MCAT prep text books (Princeton Review, Kaplan, and a bunch more). Some of them are kinda worked through but most of them are like almost entirely blank. If anyone wants any (for free ofc), please feel free to let me know! I'd be happy to give them out at MLK sometime tomorrow bc I'd rather them not go to waste:)

  1. Win all five games -> guarantees playoff spots mathematically

  2. Win 4/5, with the loss being to PBKS

This would be the best loss they can take, as we should be hoping PBKS wins all their remaining matches (especially the ones against RCB, SRH, and GT). In this case, it means we beat RR in our second match against them, and are only one point behind RR and SRH. To qualify in this position, we need Rajasthan to lose 1 game out of 3 (they play LSG, MI, and GT), or we need SRH to lose 3 out of 5 games (they play KKR PBKS GT CSK RCB). In this case, a draw/no result for a SRH or RR game counts as a loss pretty much (putting them at 7 wins and a draw and us at 8). There is also a third possibility where RCB loses 3 out of 5 games and we guaranteed qualify, but that is unlikely.

  1. Win 4/5, with the loss being to RR.

This is the exact same scenario as the last where RCB or SRH will have to lose 3 out of their remaining 5 matches. HOWEVER: this is a worse situation because Rajasthan will have to lose 2 out of their remaining three games - which is quite unlikely. This also brings a fourth result into play where PBKS can fail to qualify by losing 3 out of their remaining 5 matches. This scenario is very unlikely (of course).

  1. The GOOD NEWS

Regardless of which of the three above branches occurs, the good news is that PBKS plays against SRH and RCB. If we want to make it through (and win 4/5 games), we will be rooting for PBKS to either WIN BOTH MATCHES or LOSE BOTH MATCHES. Worst case scenario would be for them to win one and lose the second -- mainly because if they lose both and lose to us, they will have to win 2/2 games to qualify (which puts pressure on them). If they WIN BOTH MATCHES, then one of RCB or SRH will have to lose 2 out of 4 (aka both must win 3/4) to guarantee qualification)

  1. Going 3/5 (without NRR)

The ONLY way we can go 3/5 and make it through is if the losses come against KKR and PBKS. We will require one of RCB or SRH to lose all their remaining matches (or lose all but one and for the last to be washed out). Terribly unlikely, but worth a shout. We will also require GT to lose 2/4 (which is probable).

  1. If we go 3/5 and can somehow bring our net run rate positive (it is almost impossible, and would require a 10 over or 110+ run victory), we then only require one of RR, SRH, or RCB to lose 2 of their remaining matches.
