Lovingly pet.. before being subjected to bunny ears and a good stremch!

Please help, i checked on my girlfriend's snail and hes like this. He was happy and out of his shell 2 days ago, happy to be held and very active. He ate and moved around on that day, and then yesterday he hadnt moved at all. There was that weird greenish gunk thats still in his shell and thats it. Today i checked on him and hes like this, hes stiff and a weird purple color when hes usually white. Ive never owned a snail before and she was gifted him by her parents and never took care of it herself (her parents took care of it since it was a living room pet). When i poke his eyes gently, he doesnt retract or move. Hes all stiff. He doesnt smell at all.
