Can we talk about Mommy (2014)?
PS: Happy Mother’s Day!
I came into this movie with 0 expectations, and was so immensely impressed by the intense, almost authentic performances given by every actor, alongside the very naturalistic mise-en-scene and cinematography this movie offers. Both a tragic and beautiful watch, seeing the characters as lost persons who find small, fleeting moments of solace and catharsis within their relationships. For those who love A24 movies eg Aftersun, definitely give this a watch!
