I’m a PhD. student in Morocco, and I really need some advice or recent experiences regarding France Schengen visa appointments through TLScontact in Morocco.
My situation:
- Registered my appointment request on TLScontact in late April.
- Purpose: Short-stay visa to attend an important academic conference in France (June 9–12).
- This conference is critical for my PhD. graduation (I will be presenting my research, and it’s required for my thesis defence timeline).
- Centre: Marrakech (open to other centres if possible).
- I’m in the automated random appointment allocation system.
I’m quite concerned about the tight timeline. Has anyone who registered around late April received an appointment yet? What are the current wait times under the new system?
My questions are as follows:
1. Is there still a realistic chance to get an appointment and have the visa processed in time?
2.. Has anyone managed to switch to a less busy TLS centre (e.g., Agadir, Oujda, Fez, or Tangier)? Did it help?
3. Any effective ways to contact TLScontact or the French Consulate to explain the urgency as a PhD. student whose graduation depends on this conference?
4. General experiences in 2026 — how long are people actually waiting right now?
Finally, any success stories, tips, or realistic timelines would be greatly appreciated!
