Autumn is the kind of neighbor everyone wishes they had—caring, selfless, and always ready to help when no one else will. Recently, she opened her heart and her small studio apartment to two homeless strangers who needed shelter and warmth. Her act of kindness was a lifeline for them, but sadly, it was met with betrayal. After a cozy weekend, the strangers stole her wallet and her rent check, drained her bank accounts, and even sold her identity on the dark web. Despite all this, Autumn’s spirit remains unbroken. She still says, “They must have needed the money more than I did,” and believes she was doing God’s work. But now, she’s facing a harsh reality—her rent is past due, she’s nearly two months behind, and eviction is looming. Autumn is not the type to ask for help. She trusts that God will provide, but right now, she’s alone and in urgent need. Her bank can’t replace what was stolen because she allowed the strangers to use her debit card once, trying to help them further.
