How long does leg need to be kept in brace? (And silly reasons for having BKA)
I had my LBKA on 4/24, and I was given this brace to protect my stump and to keep my leg straight so it doesn't get stuck bent. How long do I have to wear it? I have my appointment with my doctor to get my stitches and staples out next thursday, but I'm trying to figure out when I can go back to work. Having it in the brace makes it much more difficult to maneuver around in tighter spaces, which we have a lot of at work, and it would be much easier if I could just have my stump free (I'd be in my wheelchair so very few chances of falling and hurting my stump).
Also, if anyone has any silly "reasons" for having to get a BKA, please add them! I was thinking "WW2 was rough :/" (I am 27 so obviously couldn't have been in WW2 lol) but not sure if that would be offensive to anyone. I'd prefer to make a joke than to have to make it kinda awkward by saying I dont want to talk about it.
