Surgery in both wrists - one failed surgery? or wrong surgeon?

In mid 2023 I was diagnosed with DQ in my left wrist. Wearing a brace, doing the exercises, and a subsequent steroid shot did not help so I ended up having surgery. It worked amazingly, I have had no issues since surgery, and still remain symptom free today. In early 2024 I was diagnosed in the other wrist as well and ended up working with an entirely different orthopedic practice and surgeon than my first time. I explained how the brace and the exercises, and a cortisone shot did not work the first time, so this time instead of living with agonizing pain for several weeks in the "wait and see" period, I asked to go straight to surgery. The doctor agreed and I had surgery on my right wrist a couple weeks later.

It's been 2 years and lately my right hand has been extremely tight, constantly feels swollen and weak, and I have developed extreme trigger finger. I have little to no pain in my wrist/hand, but I do have a lot of stiffness and discomfort. I've lost significant mobility and most days my hand just will not function. It will not close, I can't make a fist, and I can't bend my fingers. It's difficult to hold a pen, grasp a steering wheel, screw the lid off a water bottle, etc. Not to mention constantly dropping everything all day.

I don't know whether the second surgery failed generally, or if the difference is from seeing a different surgeon. Or maybe it's the fact that one wrist had a cortisone shot before surgery and the other didn't? Even though the cortisone shot did not help to begin with. In any event, I have no idea why my left wrist is totally fine and my right wrist is not. The fact that I'm not in pain is certainly confusing... not that I wish to be in pain, but at the very least it would be a clear indication that something is wrong instead of just needing to accept that my hand will never be the same again (even though my left hand is).

Has anyone else ever experienced tightness/stiffness or loss of functioning, but no pain after surgery?
