Throwback Thursday: On this day 60 years ago, Mike Hailwood's legendary Brno triple!

🏁 ON THIS DAY | Mike Hailwood's Legendary Brno Triple

July 30, 1966: Mike Hailwood delivered one of the greatest performances in Grand Prix motorcycle racing history at the old, 13.94 km Masaryk Circuit in Brno.

Racing on the fearsome public-road circuit, Hailwood claimed three victories in a single day, all aboard Honda machinery:

🏆 250cc – Won ahead of Phil Read (Yamaha), and secured the 1966 250cc World Championship (he won all 8 races up to that point in the season, and finished with 10 wins from 12 races).
🏆 350cc – Beat Giacomo Agostini (MV Agusta), and was leading comfortably in the championship, with 4 wins out of 5 races.
🏆 500cc – Defeated Giacomo Agostini (MV Agusta) to take his first win of the season in the class, and complete an unforgettable hat-trick. He ended up losing the 500cc title to Agostini, but he still did the double first (Agostini won middle and premier class titles in '68, '69, '70, '71, and '72).

Three races.
Three different motorcycles.
Three victories on one of the most demanding circuits ever used in Grand Prix racing 🇨🇿

On this day in 1966, Mike Hailwood didn't just win three races: he cemented one of the most iconic achievements in motorcycle racing history, unmatched by even Giacomo Agostini.
