Im an incoming freshman, currently doing business, but I want to change my major to mechanical engineering. I haven’t gone to orientation or signed up for classes. How do I go about trying to change my major?

I’m an incoming freshman and am planning on dorming next year. Ideally, I’d like to dorm with 2 of my friends and one random, but im unsure how to go about dorming with friends. I’ve already been approved on my housing application, I just want to know how to ensure that I end up dorming with my friends.
