How to get a single in Green apartments

Hi, I’m an upcoming 2026 transfer. I transferred a year ago to UCD before having to withdraw, so I went throughout the whole process and even though I had chosen single as my first option I was not able to get one with my roommate and ended up in a double, this year I’m trying to avoid that. I heard that groups of 4 get an earlier time for selection so it’s more possible to get singles. Is that true? Have you been able to get a single with a group of 2? Any tips?

I am choosing UCD over UCLA only because of the honors program. I’m a first gen and transfer so having support on campus is very important to me, but I read a post about how the program is not really special and much of help. I was hoping that it can help me in getting more hands on experience and internship but if it’s truly not worth it I would be making a mistake not going to LA. How has been your experience with it?

I got admitted into UCLA and UCD as a transfer but I can’t choose now. I got into UCD honors program and also my first major psychology but for sociology in UCLA. I am leaning toward LA for the connections and environment overall but I also know changing major as a transfer will be almost impossible. I’m not specifically interested in psychology in sense of becoming a therapist. I was hoping to tailor it to more business path which I may be able to do the same with sociology by adding an entrepreneurship minor. I really am trying to start a career in entertainment/ media so LA location is also a big pro. Also I’m a big city type of person in general. But as a first gen the mentorship and help of honors program is also very important to me. I do not know what to do!!!
