I’m looking for a car seat to fit my 8 month daughter after she grows out of her infant seat (we have the Chico Keyfit 35) and I had pretty much decided on the Poplar Brtiax, but I just caught wind of the Chico Fit3x.
On paper all of it‘s specs look super great, but since it‘s so new I’m having trouble finding people with actual experience with it.
Our primary car is a 2004 Honda Accord and currently we have the infant seat installed behind the driver seat. This makes it a little tight for my husband when he drives, but neither of us are tall, so it works just fine. I‘d like to be able to install this seat in the same place, but I haven’t been able to find information on the front to back length of the seat. We also hope to become pregnant again soon, so eventually we would have whatever toddler seat we pick plus the infant seat in the back. Ideally, I would be able to sit between the two carseats if necessary. The slim design might also come in handy down the road as we are looking to have a bigger family, but I don’t know exact numbers/ages or cars yet.
The ability to convert into a high back booster isn’t super important to me since by the time kid #1 needs a booster kid #2 would be using the smaller seat.
One of my highest priorities is day to day ease of use (is it easy to get the kid in and out) with ease on install being a factor as well since we would occasionally switch between vehicles (less than once a month).
Does anyone have the Fit3x and can comment on any of these factors?
