HG Alyzeus Build Experience
Some Observations:
-If you’re in to ridiculously large and attention-grabbing kits, this is definitely one of them. Arguably even more so than its successor (or predecessor if you go by kit release), the HG Penelope. It will eat a decent amount of space, so maybe not the best kit to get if you’re short on shelf real estate.
-Yes, the color accuracy of the Mass Production Nu Gundam is quite…lame for a modern HG. But hopefully you don’t plan on buying this kit just for the MP Nu 😅 In the Alyzeus form, though? You probably won’t notice the stickers because it has so much going on. Alyzeus form needs a few color touch ups, which can be done w a novice marker or brush job.
-The articulation is…pretty bad. It can barely handle its own weight standing. This kit is as “brick” as they go, and it will be living on its included stand once you’re done assembling. Although the MP Nu is spry, the Alyzeus armor pieces throw all that flexibility out the window. The legs and chicken feet are the only somewhat articulate parts.
-Because of the lighter tone of the kit, you can risk a single-nip build if you’re lazy, especially on the white pieces. Again, there’s just so much going on that your eyes kind of glaze over all the small imperfections. The gray missile binders, however, are insanely easy to stress mark and scratch - maybe spend some more time on those.
-Would I recommend this? Ehh…it’s an acquired taste. You either love it or hate it. I loved the concept of it but the build itself was really boring and at some point I just wanted it to be over. End product looks sick though (which I know is an opinion plenty of people will disagree with. Fair enough.)
EDIT: Also, be careful with the MP Nu V-fins, especially if you plan to cut out the extra plastic that makes them less pointy. They are brittle as shit and you can break them by just putting the cockpit hat thing on. I nearly did multiple times.
