I ran out of background fabric.
I made one cutting mistake (and apparently a purchasing mistake) and now I don’t have enough background fabric to make the border 😔

The Rest is History
Recently I noticed Jesse saying things like “I think it’s fair to say” and “not covering themselves in glory” and other Britishisms and then he mentioned listening to the podcast and I’m wondering if anyone else listens to both and is noticing patterns of behavior across time. I can’t decide whether it’s heartening or discouraging to hear the same stories played out over and over and over again. On the one hand, things are improving for humanity by our efforts and innovations, on the other, humanity seems to have been a giant personality disordered mistake.

Iron residue on fabric
My iron is leaving this black residue on my fabric when I press the seams. If I scratch it with my nails some of it will flake off. I cleaned the iron and it doesn’t look like there is anything on it so I have no idea what’s happening. It’s the same cotton setting I’ve been using for a year so is it the fabric? It’s Moda Dotty Thatched.

Hexis
I got this mini charm pack as a gift with purchase and used them to try English paper piecing. I somehow lost one, so I hand pieced the other 41 hexis into a symmetrical pattern and decided to learn to sew a zipper pouch to put them on. I will do the zipper differently next time but overall pretty happy with the result.

Still searching for these OOP fabrics
If anyone has a way to get two of them from the shop in Köln, Germany and bring them to the US please let me know. They don’t ship outside the euro zone and my husband is frowning on my idea to go get them myself.
